I think I might buy myself a Nintendo DS, and one or two games...and then ask for more games for Giftmas. It of course depends on certain things, like if any horrible money-sucking occurances pop up.

A DS would mean that I could play games while exercising while at the hotel while away for work...whee.

Try to buy a used one on the cheap... they're sturdy, as long as you get one that doesn't have any dead pixels or whatever, it'll last another year - then when the new dual touchscreen one comes out, you can get that one! It's just not worth it to buy one new now, unless you really wanted it in some special color or something.

That was my plan. I'm going to try to get a used black ds lite from gamestop or something, since it'd be $50 or so cheaper. Then upgrade when I have the money.

That's my first choice :) it still has to wait a couple of weeks (even though I want it now SO BADLY), but if I do decide to go used, he would be my first call.

No baby yet. Had a dr. appointment this morning - making SLOOOW progress in the right direction. Baby probably won't be born until on or after the due date (23rd).

well, thats the thing. If its in the rumor mill, theres a good chance that if it isn't already in devel/production, it will be soonish.
Meh. I am still trying to figure out if its better to go used or new on something like this.

Well, a used one is 109, so it's $20 cheaper, but I can get it for 93ish, so it'd be almost $40 cheaper to go used.

Honestly, if you want me to get it, I will find you a good one. We get enough that are stolen and brand new that it shouldn't be hard. Less color choices, though.

Well...if you can, a used black DS lite would be SWEET. A cobalt/black or crimson/black would be ok too. Its not OMG RIGHT NOW, so if you see one tomorrow (or whenever) that is black/excellent condition, get it, but if nothing comes up for a week or two, thats ok too :) Just one thats in new/excellent condition, and one of the three listed colors...and you're awesome.

I will warn you that the DS and all it's game are not made for a moving environment. Ty can play in the car. I can't. The shaking and missing of targets drives me crazy. And it's two handed. So I don't know if you *can* exercise with it.

But otherwise they are muchly fun and I wish you luck in your quest for a less expensive one.
