(no subject)

ITS TIMES LIKE THIS THAT I FUCKING HATE ITUNES.

And basically all asshole music programs.

I burn a CD of MY music.
I then take MY cd to work to put on my work laptop.
I then have to enter information for EACH INDIVIDUAL TRACK because there is no way to import the song list. AT ALL. I have to go in and type in the song name, artist, and if I care, the album, genre, and whatever else. They make it impossible to, say, just import the titles and artist from an excel file. They are so uppity about 'pirating' and all that shit that I can't even burn a mix CD for myself.

AND RIGHT NOW IT IS REALLY FUCKING FRUSTRATING.

GRRRRRRRRGHGHGHGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

You can't even burn the CD with CDTEXT?

[identity profile] treyvana.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Nope, because itunes doesn't have that option when you're burning cds

if the song isnt protected (stupid drm) then you can burn an mp3 cd...that seems to work, except itunes wont import the cd, meaning you have to copy them of the CD to a file, then move them into itunes manually. OI.

...Rob says he selected cd text when he burned them...not worky

Sorry... I'm old enough to remember making mix tapes. I'd find one a year later, and I wouldn't know what half the songs were on it.

Oh, no I do that too. Its just when I know what the songs are, and have to put them in one by one.

I've still got a bunch of mix tapes- some of them even have the hand-written song lists with them too. In fact, I've actually downloaded the songs from itunes or amazon that I have on those mix tapes (so now I can listen to a specific song without fastforwarding and rewinding to try to find the beginning of the right song)

Oh, anyway, that's why I don't own an iPod (that and I'm cheap) and only buy DRM-free MP3s from Amazon.

Yeah, I try to buy as much as I can from amazon. Theres a rumor that DRM might be on its way out. Doesn't help the stuff I already got from itunes (because it wasn't available on amazon, and itunes is cheaper than buying the actual CD)

Yep on all counts. I really hope DRM is on the way out, because it was never a good idea. To make the wedding CD, we had to buy the songs from Rhapsody, then burn them to a CD and rip them back off. It was retarded.
